Fill Your Cup

Let me tell you a secret.

The time you spend with your dog, the training you do, the walks you take, should fill your cup. ☕

⛈ Are you are leaving the park feeling dejected, or like you don’t measure up?

⛈ Does training class loom in the near future like a dark cloud? Are you worried your dog will embarrass you, or that you won’t be able to follow along with the exercises?

⛈ Even relaxing at home with your dog can be punctuated by stressful, frustrating moments of barking, counter surfing or cat-worrying.

A lot of us feel like we always have to lean into the hard stuff, to push through. We have to be tough and strong and push forward. If we’re struggling, we must be learning, right?

Many more of us feel overwhelmed, like there isn’t another option.
“My dog can’t learn to be calm,'' you wouldn’t believe how often I hear that.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.
A wise friend once told me “without change, there is no change”.

🌤 If you feel dragged down by going to training class, find a different way to achieve your goals.

🌤 If a certain sport is feeling like a chore, put it on the back burner and try something new.

🌤 If the dog park is stressful and embarrassing, go find somewhere quiet and peaceful and walk there.

And if you feel stuck, or drained, or out of options, know that you don’t have to stay this way forever.
